These reviews may not be eloquently written, but the writing is
honest. So, read away and take it for what its worth!

We like to employ the 'two strikes and you are out rule!' I like to try a
restaurant
more than once. If a restaurant is really that bad both times, that's it
for me! Keep in mind that these reviews are written by unpaid local
folks. Read what you like and go out and try a new restaurant!

AW Asian Bistro
1132 Finnegan Way (Fairhaven)
Bellingham, WA 98225 (360) 715 3028
My new favorite restaurant! They pour you a very full glass of wine in a
very big glass, my kind of place! Also, the food is great and the prices
are reasonable. Cuisine is a cross between Japanese and Thai. They
have sushi and Thai dishes. We got a free plate of edamame on the
house while sitting up at the bar. I love going to a restaurant where
the customer is appreciated!

Bayou on Bay
Holly & Bay Street, Bellingham
I was pleasantly surprised eating at Bayou on Bay, a new Cajun style
restaurant at the corner of Holly and Bay Streets. The Pan Fried Po-Boy
sandwich I ordered was delicious and definitely close to the real thing.
My dinner companions loved the jambalaya, and the blackened tuna.
The vegetarian gumbo was very good as well. It has mid-priced menu
items – that is a happy find here where it seems that restaurant food is
getting more and more expensive, but the quality is not always equal
to the price. They serve beer and wine – even a Louisiana beer that
was quite tasty. I definitely recommend this restaurant to all.

Bob's Burger and Brew
Railroad Avenue, Downtown Bellingham
Where else can you get a sandwich that has a hot dog on top of a
hamburger in a bun! Needless to say, if you haven't been to Bob's, you
should go. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. They have
salads, fish and chips, burgers, and even dessert. We went to the new
restaurant downtown Bellingham and it was great. I have been to all
the Bob's and there are all the exact same.

Boston Gourmet Pizza
70 Bellis Fair Parkway
Bellingham, WA 98226
The pizza here is like Applebees: Kind of mass-produced with that
company "flare".
Again, it's not bad, just typical. The lasagna that my boyfriend got was
loaded with beef and he enjoyed it very much. If I want gourmet pizza,
though, I will skip Boston's and go to La Fiamma any day.

Busara
404 36th St
Bellingham WA (360) 734-8088
I love this place! The ambiance is great - I love the setting. They have
an seating area where you remove your shoes and site on pillows. Love
it! The food is pretty good, but it depends on what you order. I had
Pad Thai Chicken and spring rolls. They also have chicken pot stickers -
a wonderful surprise for this non-pork eater! Anyway, I love this place
and I will go back again and again.

Fiamma Burger
1309 Railroad Avenue
Bellingham, WA 98225 (360) 733-7374
The new fiamma burger is open and we went there the other night. It
was pretty busy - so it looks like lots of people are anxious to try it
out. We had one cheeseburger and one chicken burger along with one
fry and one onion ring. The food was ok, the interior design is really
cool. One objection though - you pay for it. Our total bill for two
burgers, fry and onion ring was over $18 bucks! That's a lot! Fiamma
burger - we want you to succeed, but that is really expensive for this
hamster!

The Grace Cafe
1065 E. Sunset Dr.
Bellingham, WA 98226-3510 (360) 650-9298
So, this place is not located downtown or in trendy Fairhaven, but it is
definitely just as good as the best of them! Homemade pies, scones,
bagels, and lots of other baked goodies. This is a great breakfast and
lunch stop. In fact, it is one of my favorites. They even have a drive
thru! One bit of bad news - they are not open on Sunday. So, if
someone from the Grace Cafe is reading this, please hear my message:
open your doors on Sunday!

Honeymoon
1053 N State St Alley
Bellingham, WA 98225
A couple of weeks ago, we were invited to go to a wine tasting
birthday party at Honeymoon, a restaurant located in the alley behind
State Street just south of the Depot Market Square (next door and
below the Pepper Sisters). Let me tell you how much I like this place! I
am all about ambiance, and this place has it for sure. While it is small, it
is very intimate. Are you looking for a quiet place to taste wine and
have a bite to eat? Enjoy $1.00 wine tastings of seasonal favorites.
Enjoy tapas (a variety of small appetizer-like dishes) in a dimly lit
dinning area while gazing towards the back room where the French oak
barrels are stored. I give this place an A+ for catering to people like me
that are all about the look and feel of a place.

Luis's Mexican Restaurant # 1538 Birchwood Ave, #B
Bellingham, WA (360) 756-8973

I love this restaurant! Yes, it is just Mexican food. But it is good. This
is a great family run business and the service is fast and friendly. We
get 1/2 off dinner from coupons in the Valu-Pak mailer that comes
every month to everyone in Bellingham. The food is on par with the
rest of Bellingham as far as Mexican goes. They have all the regular
items. The great thing about this place is that you'll never have to wait
for a table and you won't have to wait long for your food. Love it!

Lychee Buffet
819 Lakeway Dr.
Bellingham, WA 98229
Just another buffet, right? No, not this one. I think the chef is from
San Francisco. Anyway, they have all you can eat crab legs, oysters,
prawns, sushi, duck and an assortment of Chinese cuisine. Get this, all
for $10.59 for dinner! That's unbelievable. All you can eat dungeness
crab at Anthony's is like over 30 bucks! If you are hungry and want
some good chow, go to this place! It's worth it! They always keep there
buffet fully stocked, so you won't be waiting in line or disappointed.

Scotty Browns 3101 Newmarket Street Suite 201
Bellingham, WA (360) 306-8823
Wow - if I closed my eyes and forgot where I was, I would think that I
am in downtown Seattle or Bellevue. The atmosphere at this place is
good. They also have year-round outdoor seating on their patio that
looks over Barkley Village. Great place for a work party or a date. The
bar seemed really happening. The food was not too bad, but pretty
expensive. I had a fish burger, french fries, and spinach dip for an
appetizer. It was alright and I will probably come back.

Skylarks Hidden Cafe 1308 11th St
Bellingham, WA 98225 - 7081 (360)715-3642
Go to this restaurant! I rate it an A+ for food and feel! If you are as
lucky as we were, you'd walk right in and have a seat in a swing-back
chair next to the fireplace. We enjoyed a veggie sandwich with new
england clam chowder and Skylark's signature light and zesty coleslaw.
The look and feel of the place is that of an old antique shop. During
the summer time, they have a great outdoor seating area. Not sure
what's on the menu for dinner, but we enjoyed an awesome lunch. So,
the next time you are in Fairhaven, you have got to check this place
out!
